First, some words to revise: fashionable is modny, but you can also use words or expressions like in fashion, hot, up-to-date, stylish, trendy or latest thing.
On the other hand, there's the opposite of fashionable -> unfashionable, or in other words, out of fashion, out-of-date, old-fashioned, plain, or passe.
Now, think of the world around you (clothes, music, lifestyle, hairstyle, language, etc.) and answer my question:
What is in fashion and what is out of fashion nowadays?
Who tells people what is hot and what is not?
Do you follow the latest fashion? Do you think you should?
In the fashion now is for example the large heel on the ladies shoes, the hats, covering a bit face, beads and large necklaces should appear the rhodium from former years, dresses should be now in check pattern, in the fashion was the tiger skin earlier, the motive of the snake skin becomes fashionable now. Out of fashion become narrow heels, the additions with the garish colours, the plastic bracelets, the striped, briefly, the contrast of this what fashionable.

Not, I do not follow the fashion. Getting dressed in this what is fashionable in my opinion is unnecessary and needless. Everyone should wear this what he like. Although someone will not dress fashionably, he can look well.
I think you're right. I also think, that following fashion is silly and can be expensive. People should have their own styles and not 'steal' it from others. You can be fashionable even if you don't follow trends. I wear things, which I find good-looking and I would never wear something, which I don't like.
ReplyDeleteThis fall people hide in wardrobes all neon things, they bought on summer and change them into all kinds of brown, grey and white. We're buying brown cothurn shoes with sheepskin coat on top and berets. On New Year's oarty we've already have cequin dresses, skirts, jumpsuits, hats, trousers and so on. As an addition to every day suit, girls wear over knee socks. Animal patterns are not as hot as before, except snake skins (with shiny details obviouslly...) This season girls've gone crazy about college jackets. But unfortunatelly they all look same now ;). Converse shoes also became more popular. Now almost every girl have at least one pair of these.
Stylists and fashion designers tell people what should they wear. I like some of them, but not these most popular. I like to look original.
Dawid and Anita, I couldn't agree more. Fashion may inspire us, but not in the way that we follow it blindly. You should know what suits you and what doesn't. And yes, think of your preferences and what is comfortable for you.
