Twist Your Tongue with a Tongue Twister!

Try nice tongue twisters that are perfect for practicing difficult sounds. Read them a couple of times until you can recite them fluently or learn them by heart. I bet it's much easier than "chrząszcz brzmi w trzcinie w Szczebrzeszynie.." ;-)

For a start a very short one..

Sheena leads, Sheila needs.

Try to read it once again, but this time faster. Prepare for a more difficult part:

Denise sees the fleece, Denise sees the fleas. At least Denise could sneeze and feed and freeze the fleas.

I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish, but if you wish the wish the witch wishes, I won't wish the wish you wish to wish.

Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers. A peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked. If Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers, Where's the peck of pickled peppers Peter Piper picked?

If Stu chews shoes, should Stu choose the shoes he chews?

Through three cheese trees three free fleas flew. While these fleas flew, freezy breeze blew. Freezy breeze made these three trees freeze. Freezy trees made these trees' cheese freeze. That's what made these three free fleas sneeze.

Sing me soothing songs...

Since St. Valentine's Day is celebrated soon and it is popular also in Poland, I put a song that seems to be verrry romantic :-) (not to mention the fact that it is quite useful because it uses the second conditional = "Gdybym była ...", which tells you about something that is impossible or almost impossible. Surely, the author of the words is a dreamer.. ) I wonder how many of you understand the words of the song and are able to (=can) translate it or explain it.. Do you like the song?

"If You Were A Sailboat" Katie Melua

If you were a cowboy, I would trail you,
If you were a piece of wood, I'd nail you to the floor.
If you were a sailboat, I would sail you to the shore.
If you were a river, I would swim you,
If you were a house, I would live in you all my days.
If you were a preacher, I'd begin to change my ways.

Sometimes I believe in fate,
But the chances we create,
Always seem to ring more true.
You took a chance on loving me,
I took a chance on loving you.

If I was in jail, I know you'd spring me
If I was a telephone, you'd ring me all day long
If was in pain, I know you'd sing me soothing songs.

Sometimes I believe in fate,
But the chances we create,
Always seem to ring more true.
You took a chance on loving me,
I took a chance on loving you.

If I was hungry, you would feed me
If I was in darkness, you would lead me to the light
If I was a book, I know you'd read me every night

If you were a cowboy, I would trail you,
If you were a piece of wood, I'd nail you to the floor.
If you were a sailboat, I would sail you to the shore.
If you were a sailboat, I would sail you to the shore.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I think there are a lot of activities you can do in your free time, for example reading a book, playing a game, going for a walk, meeting with a friend, joining a club (depends on what interests you have) or searching on the Internet... Try www.bored.com ! :-)
