For and About Children!
Little Johnny wasn't getting good marks in school. One day he surprised the teacher with an announcement. He tapped her on the shoulder and said, "I don't want to scare you, but my daddy says if I don't start getting better grades, somebody is going to get a spanking!"
The child comes home from his first day at school. Mother asks, "What did you learn today?"
The kid replies, "Not enough. I have to go back tomorrow."
Something different (it doesn't mean nicer) for a change?
To see the illusion, you need to stare intently at the small black dot in the centre of the image and move your head slowly toward then away from the screen...
Is it a moving image, or are your eyes playing tricks on you?

E71 - God Bless America?
I am an American who loves America
I wonder why peolpe hate America
I hear the eagle call for freedom
I see the flag waving in the wind
I want the soldiers to come home safe
I am an American who loves America
I pretend to fly like an eagle
I feel the eagles feather run through my fingers
I touch the white star on the flag
I worry that America will fall
I cry when a soldier dies
I am an American who love America
I understand why we fight for America
I say God bless America
I dream that America stays strong
I try to be all I can be
I am an American who loves America
What does America mean to you? Is it only fast food restaurants and jeans? I hope not. So why do you think people love America? Why were there so many immigrants in the 19th century and why are people still arriving?
Browse some info on Life in the USA or American culture and share with us what you've learnt.
For example, how much did you know about The American Dream and "from rags to riches" idea?
E51 - Pros and cons of technology
I believe that computers or mobile phones are one of the greatest inventions ever. Certainly, they make our life easier. For some people, particularly the young ones, they've been present in their life since they were born. It's obvious that they can't imagine having no possibility to surf on the Internet or send a text message to a friend. However, nowadays we're in a hurry and sometimes forget about simple pleasures. Are you really happy to be surrounded by those technology gadgets?
So are you enthusiastic about technology (computers and mobile phones)? Or are you against such inventions?
For or against? That's my question to you. Why? Please answer this one too and give some arguments.
You can also say how often you use the inventions.
E42 - Will we get fatter?
Now imagine that it is about our future. Having the picture predict what will happen to us and what our life will look like.
E32 - Our school
Look through the information about British school on CLICK HERE and read about a day of a 13-year old British boy NOW SEE THIS ONE and write about school in Poland, something a British teenager would find interesting.
Subjects? Breaks? Eating at school? School clothes? You choose!
E22 - My favourite month
What about you?
What is your favourite month? Why?
What can you do or what do you do in this month?

Karaoke
All you need to do is enter KaraokeParty
Next, click on a song you'd like to sing
Then, select background music (you don't need a microphone)
And finally, start singing!
If I may be of any advice, try a song "Hurt" by Christina Aguilera first since it's not that fast or difficult and you might recognize many grammatical issues from your English lessons.
What will you do if I go away?
Watch the video!
Then you might as well take the sun away;
All the birds that flew in the summer sky,
When our love was new and our hearts were high;
When the day was young and the night was long,
And the moon stood still for the night bird's song.
If you go away, if you go away, if you go away.
But if you stay, I'll make you a day
Like no day has been, or will be again;
We'll sail the sun, we'll ride on the rain,
We'll talk to the trees and worship the wind.
Then if you go, I'll understand,
Leave me just enough love to fill up my hand,
If you go away, if you go away, if you go away.
If you go, as I know you will, you must tell the world to stop turning
Till you return again, if you ever do, for what good is love without loving you,
Can I tell you now, as you turn to go, I'll be dying slowly till the next hello,
If you go away, if you go away, if you go away.
But if you stay, I'll make you a night
Like no night has been, or will be again.
I'll sail on your smile, I'll ride on your touch,
I'll talk to your eyes that I love so much.
But if you go, go, I won't cry,
Though the good is gone from the word goodbye,
If you go away, if you go away, if you go away.
If you go away, as I know you must,
There'll be nothing left in the world to trust,
Just an empty room, full of empty space,
Like the empty look I see on your face.
I'd have been the shadow of your shadow
If I thought it might have kept me by your side.
If you go away, if you go away, if you go away

Happy Easter
Easter Isn't, © by Easy Grandpa Tucker
I heard a funny bunny say,
"I just go nuts on Easter day.
I hide about a zillion eggs
And baskets tangle up my legs.
"I'm tired, my eyes are full of tears
And overflowing to my ears.
If I'm to work more Easter Days
At my age I should change my ways
"I know I must do something rash
So I'll start saving all my cash
Then next year, with a little luck
I'll deliver in my pick up truck."
2) Read about Easter holiday and click on Easter Traditions
3)Help the Easter Bunny find his way through the maze to find a new basket for delivering the Easter eggs

Czy kiedykolwiek spaliście w namiocie?
some time ago I gave one of my groups a sample of present perfect/ past simple rhymes I'd written to make learning grammar more enjoyable and easier. Somehow I believe that such poems, when learnt by heart, can be helpful when you happen to forget the construction. I also hope that they are fun. And you can always try and write your own!
However, before that, think about things that you have already done or have never done in your life (first in your mother tongue). Then, read the short poems and try to find the bare form (infinitive=bezokolicznik) of verbs in bold. Finally, play with them and have fun!
Have you ever seen a ghost with huge scary eyes?
Oh yes, I have seen it twice,
Once in a horror movie and then in my dream,
It was so terrifying** I turned off the screen. *
Have you ever sat in the saddle*** and ridden a horse like cowboys?
Sure, we have. But my friend fell down and tore his corduroys****.
And what did his mother say when she saw him?*
She shouted, SUCH A BIG HOLE I HAVE NEVER SEEN!
Have you ever hummed ***** in a train or sung loudly with happiness?
No, I haven’t. But my brother has.
But one day a woman who was a bodybuilder heard his voice,*
And with her fist # she killed the noise.*
Have you ever met a man with three eyes?
Yes, I have! He was of a very unusual size!
And he asked me to give him a lift ^ yesterday.*
So did you? - Are you crazy? I ran away!*
* examples of past simple tense
** terrifying - przerażający
*** saddle - siodło
**** corduroys - sztruksy
***** to hum - nucić

Group E32 Competition
read the stories I received from you some time ago and write a number (from 1 to 5) of your favourite story in "comments" (volunteers can also leave their comment/opinion). The title of the story is "Last Night I Saw a Ghost." I asked you to use 10 verbs (look, play, talk, visit, open, want, study, hurry, enjoy, prefer) in the past simple tense.
Enjoy!
1. Last night a ghost visited me, but it wasn't terrible. It actually looked nice. I asked him what he was doing, and he replied that he was looking for someone to have fun with. I invited him to play my computer, but he didn't win. However, a game of table tennis and Xbox came out better. We talked about the school a lot. He told me that he was very fond of school and preferred sciences. Suddenly, I saw a hole in the wall that sucked him into it, andhe left without saying goodbye.
Karol
2. It was a cold and rainy night.A ghost of my grandfather talked with me last night.
He looked at me and played football in my backyard.
He opened the door and visited me at
Bartek
3. It was a cold and rainy night. When I got up and went to toilet, I could see a dim shape in the gloom. It was a ghost of Michael Jackson. He played my guitar. I talked with him about his new songs. He visited me because I loved his songs. Michael hurried up, opened the window and flew out.
Mateusz
The ghost said, "I am a ghost."
I said, "I knew that."
The ghost said, "Let's play football."
We started playing football. I enjoyed it. Next day I visited him in his house; I talked with him. He said that he had a "Surprise" for me. It was inside a can. I wanted to open it, but he said, "You must study History first!"
I had to hurry, because I had a History test the next day. I preferred to play computer, but that ghost was my teacher, and the "Surprise" was just peanuts.
Kazik
5. It was a rainy day. I studied English and I saw a ghost. I hurried to the bathroom. I preferred to stay in a safe place. He talked to me about visiting a small girl and he said that he enjoyed playing with the small girl, but yesterday he wished that I was his food. I opened the door and I ran out. It was terrible. I saw some people; they played chess. The ghost ran next to me. He cut my hand. I shouted very loudly...
And I woke up.
